Philip Catron, President
NaturaLawn of America
1 East Church Street
Frederick, Maryland 21701

I want to take this opportunity to welcome NaturaLawn of America as a member in the Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP). PESP is an exciting, voluntary program to reduce the risks from the use of pesticides. I am pleased that NaturaLawn of America is taking a leadership role along with our other members, in working with EPA on environmental stewardship.

I applaud the steps your organization has already taken toward reducing the risks from the use of pesticides. To advance our common environmental goals further will require a close collaborative effort. Your willingness to join PESP indicates your dedication to these goals. The Office of Pesticide Programs staff looks forward to working closely with you.

My staff and I look forward to working with NaturaLawn of America on the challenges that lie ahead. I am convinced that in the years to come we will point with pride to a legacy of reduced risks form the use of pesticides brought about through the cooperation among NaturaLawn of America, our other members, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Dear NaturaLawn of America,

Thank you so much for NaturaLawn ® of America's contribution to our Loch Raven Reservoir Cleanup Day 2003.

I am also grateful for the landscaping leaflets you provided for our volunteers. Please accept the enclosed Certificate of Appreciation from us as a token of our appreciation.

Also included, here, is the press release sent out to many local newspapers, newsletters and websites, which includes NaturaLawn of America as one of our benefactors under both the “Donated Funds” and “Donated Goods” sections. I am also providing a newsletter, which has a front-page article about the clean up. Lastly, I am giving you a videotape documenting Cleanup Day 2002, so you can get a better idea about what it is all about.

Well, again, thanks so much!

All My Very Best,

Dear Mr. Catron,

Well once again a great BIG thank you to you for your support of the SPCA's Dog Walk! Thanks for the generous $500 contribution to help defray expenses which, as you know, allowed us to put NaturaLawn of America's name on the back of our tee-shirts so all the world could see who our best supporters are! A special thanks also for offering to help stock the goody bags we give Dog Walk participants. We appreciate the thought your PR department put into creating an assortment of information which is of interest to pet owners in general and dog owners in particular.

You're a great sport and next year you'll just need to adopt a dog so you, yourself can walk with us!

Sincerely,
JoAnne K. Negola

Frederick County Family YMCA...Contributing to the Community Everyday!

March 11, 2004

Dear NaturaLawn of America,

Thank you for supporting the Frederick County Family YMCA’s 2004 Campaign for Kids with your generous gift.

Funds raised for the YMCA Campaign for Kids are used for financial assistance for the less fortunate in our community. In 2003, the YMCA provided over a half a million dollars in financial assistance to families for childcare programs, family health and wellness memberships, youth and government teen programs, and summer camps. With your gift, the YMCA is able to promote healthy development of children, build positive behavior in teens and emphasize core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility for self and others.

You help make the Frederick community a safe and healthy place for children, families, teens and adults to live.

Thanks for making a difference!

We are enthusiastic about the opportunities for future growth. The Penn State Berks-Valley College is becoming a leader for innovative teaching and learning by developing baccalaureate programs that permit students to complete their junior and senior years at the campus.

We appreciate your vote of confidence in the work we are doing.

Sincerely,
Kimberly J. Murphy, CFRE

Thank you again for supporting the Frederick County YMCA’s 2003 Community Partnership Campaign!

Your investment today helps to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities for a lifetime. You truly help make the difference!

Frederick, MD 21701

Dear NaturaLawn of America,

Thank you so much for your recent in-kind donation to the Toxics Information Project (TIP) and its 2004 Less Toxic Landscaping Campaign & Contest! Your generous contribution of one full lawn care program, including fertilizer applications, and a soil test, as one of the prizes in the contest, is a really marvelous gift that fits perfectly with our ideal of healthy, natural lawn care.

I think you will be as pleased as I am with the nature of the contestants who won this prize. It was given as a special Group Organic Gardening Project award to Barbara Malone & Cub Scout Pack 7, Buttonwoods, in Warwick, Rhode Island- who will be donating it to a local church!

The Less Toxic Landscaping campaign is addressing some very serious health and environmental concerns associated with the extensive use of lawn care pesticides in Rhode Island. Through education about the effects of these chemicals and about attractive, less toxic alternatives, we expect to make progress toward a healthier state. The contest, we believe, has been a significant factor in publicizing the cause and in gathering materials for an LTL Resources Guide to be published in early 2005.

TIP is a small, but very active organization run with a very low overhead. For that reason, all donations are significant and greatly appreciated boosts to our ability to continue our work. It's not only the material gift, however needed and important, that you have given. The work of TIP is often difficult and daunting, given the level of general public ignorance about health effect from toxic chemicals. Your support and encouragement have given us a psychological lift as well- the feeling that there are those who do “get it” and are with us in spirit as we strive to educate people about this concern.

Thank you and bless you!

Liberty Goodwin, Director
Toxics Information Project
